The wedding was in Canmore, and I got my nails buffed and painted the same afternoon.

Saw a big raven outside the hotel the morning of!

The mountains were beautiful, too. Needed earplugs because the hotel was right along the train tracks. human_loser was kind enough to let me share his room. Saved enough moolah to get a manicure!

7. Write and perform some sketch comedy

The Christmas Pets sketch I wrote with human_loser was such a big hit at the 2007 Apocalypse Kow Kristmas Kabaret, they asked us to perform it AGAIN in 2008, and one of Astroboy's family members asked to perform it at their OWN gathering!

So, yeah. Though the Aggressive Pedestrians (a never quite realized sketch group) is now defunct... Zoe the Cat and Nigel the Dog made an impression!

2. Finish a draft of Electra

So, I did all of these things, when I moved from my beautiful apartment in the Townhouse with Kloster to my condo--"Pussytown"--with Ry-Guy.

I've got my closet organized somewhat, my bed has been vacuumed under at least once, and the big-ass mirror is hanging where it should be--in a place where I can see myself from head to toe as required for dressing to go out.

I've also got a few of my paintings hanging in the place. Now we just have to get some of our theatre posters framed and hang those up too!

And boy, am I glad that I didn't give away all of Ry-Guy's stuff. I think he's glad too.

19. Get a Massage

10. Take a Tai Chi Class

Well, here's one off the list that I should have updated months ago...

In October/November, Dr. Teeth and myself got together and took a beginner's Tai Chi class with the Taoist Tai Chi society.

We had a good time, as the class was very relaxing and laid back.

Finding the time to go, however, wasn't. Both the good Doc and myself were in school full time and had particularly heavy course loads that term, so we ended up missing a fair portion of the classes--including the final one!

I think when our scheds are a little less manic, it would be fun to go back. What do you say, Doc?

One of the instructors said I needed to work on my "inner quiet." I wonder why he'd say that...

72. Create and play two more RPG characters with the House of Style guys

Well I've done it! If you click on the link above, you'll see my earlier entry where I talk about my D20 Modern character, Lilly Hammond. I've now got a fourth character: Gorgo! In Planescapes, I'm a member of a clan that believes that we're all dead already, and that desire and feelings and all that "Life" stuff get in the way of our pure and perfect innate "deadness." She's a Paladin!

God, I'm geeky. And this Role-Playing stuff is surprisingly hard. Though I was hella proud of my detective skills in attempting to track down where those mysterious "not-quite-dead" bodies were coming from...

Hey! I did some stuff on this list!

I went camping with human_loser when we stayed overnight at the Knopke acridge for Linda and Andrew's wedding.

It's just a cheap tent-chairs-sleeping bag set we got at CanTire for $100, and they were only 1.5lb sleeping bags. I forgot it gets a LOT colder out in the country with no sun-heated concrete radiating warmth all night long. Ryan and I were FREEZING. My teeth were literally chattering as I got dressed and made my way to the car in the middle of the night for our extra sleeping bag. Ryan feel asleep finally with a blanket wrapped around his head like a turban. Needless to say, I was TIIIIIRED the next day for the gift opening.

It was her birthday on the 17th and she had earlier remarked that the subject of one of my paintings happened to be her favourite building downtown.

I showed up with it at her place on Friday with her other gift, "The Happy You Were Born Mix."

I can't include that as a done'er on this list however, since I did not mail it to her anonymously.

I'm glad she and her roomie, MaGiK, like it!

Ry and I managed to get seats at the Tasty Tomato on Stony Plain Road!

In fact, we were the only people there!
Note to self: If I want a seat at a usually very busy restaurant, go during a hockey game, or like we did, during a blizzard.

Truly delicious, they were slathered in garlic, butter and cheese. I LOVE eating at restaurants!

5. Finish a draft of the mascot play with scottybomb and 87. Submit a play to a writing competition

We did it! We actually did it! We finished the first draft of our mascot play, now titled Game Face, at the University of Alberta Bookstore's 24-hour playwriting compeition "10 Days of Madness."

We pretty much sat at the computer together for the entire writing process, reading as the other wrote and trading off between scenes and when one of us stalled. It worked really well considering we didn't nail down any specifics of how we were going to work together. It felt really organic and natural.

We ostensibly finished before going to bed at 1:30am or therabouts and then woke up around 5am to make some cuts, insert a monologue and agonize over a title. We gave it to the dramaturg on call to read when we couldn't think of anything else to do before submitting it, and she basically told us it was solid and ready for a reading with actors. Like Scotty said, not what we wanted to hear, but good news none the less!

Tomorrow they announce the 1st Place winners at Chianti's on Whyte. I can't be there because I have rehearsal for the new works festival, but Ry-Guy and Scottybomb (hopefully) and will be on hand. I think our play is good enough to at least place, but even if we don't win anything we've already got what we came for--and I've crossed another TWO items off my 101 List!

The Heroic Trio (myself, Nez and Shiny) abducted The Goblins Webcomic creator and Pure Speculation Special Guest Tarol Hunt after the Costume Shindig mentioned earlier and took him out to the GAYBAR (the Roost) for some awesome sweaty and costumed dancing!

I think I made an impression, since he mentioned me in his blog.

(Hint: I'm the "gorgeous girl in a Cat-girl costume".)

90. Put actual effort into my Halloween costume. Go to a party dressed up.

I actually did this! And I went to not one (the Pure Speculation Shindig), not two (the Halloween party at Der Wafflehausen), but THREE parties in the month of October dressed up! (The last taking place at Chateau Creme du Menthe.)

I went to the first two as a Catgirl and the last one as Pizzazz from Jem and the Holograms. Shiny_Gal and Nezbitt dressed up as the other two Misfits, Roxy and Stormer, respectively.

That $28, leopard-print, fun-fur mini-dress was the best purchase EVER!

were actually completed more than a month ago. He was here for me when I needed him most and I'm grateful for that.

Also, we had a lot of great GREAT sex. (The location of said "sex somewhere other than my bedroom" will remain classified. It was supposed to be in the backseat of a car, but fate intervened and it didn't materialize.) We even made love once!

For those who don't know my intercourse rating system:

1. Making Love - It's beautiful, tender and sweet.

So I did this puppy! Even though it was INSANELY HOT, I went to K-Days (oh I'M sorry--Capital X) with Scottybomb and Ry-Guy, and ran into LA and her brother--and the only person I wanted to kill was Ry (don't worry, we made up)! We managed to get Ry-Guy on a rollercoaster despite his inner-ear problem (we got a pic too--Ry's screaming in terror, I'm screaming with joy, and Scottybomb is screaming with aprehension). I blew something like $75 there on food, rides, water etc... Ry won $15 at the slots and bought me some English candy--yum.

The climax of the evening came when we managed to score a ride on the ferris wheel just as the fireworks were starting. It was a really great show and we were on the wheel long enough to get one last spin round after the finale.

I'm happy we went, even if it was completely overpriced and hot and not as good as previous years (as Scottybomb observed). I went on a ride with Ry-Guy and I have PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE! I'll see if I can scan it someday.

I forgot to give everyone the news that yes, I am now a U of A student.

I got my official letter of acceptance two weeks ago. I'm on the road towards my BA in Drama (minor in Art & Design).

AKA:
Major in Unemployment
Minor in Homelessness

Fame! I'm gonna live forever! I'm gonna learn how to fly!

Yeah, I'm a little more excited about it than I'm sounding in this post, really. I've been ready to go back to school for a while and even though it isn't the school I had my heart set on, I think I could learn alot at the U of A.

If I don't kill the Vic kids first, of course.

Gah.

My bro is one year closer to finishing his degree than I am.

*Blargh.*

Now to convince the Arts Faculty that they should maybe be putting some of the 27 Art & Des credits from my first year there towards my minor and my one drama course towards my major! Wish me luck and pray I don't punch anybody in the junk.

So I got this one done last Wednesday with roomie extraordinaire MaGiK. Saw Kinnie Starr and Buck 65 at the Myer Horowitz. I was so tired I didn't recognize Tasha Weenk from Imagepalooza. Sat down in our (admittedly awsome) seats and cried. God bless MaGiK's ole heart... he's such a sweetie. All understandin' of my weepy ways these days.

Had a great time. I gots to get Kinnie's new CD when I have more money. And Buck 65 reminded me of a Canadian white trash Tom Waits. Really funny. He kept throwing sparkles in the air that he kept in his pockets. And he performed a Dennis Lee poem from Garbage Delight, one of my favourites as a kid. The audience clapped along. It was spontaneous and fun. By the end of the night I had relaxed a little bit and forgotten all about our potentially non-functional fridge (it's working fine btw).

So, yeah. No. 44 done.

I am soooo tiiiiiiired!

I just want to put my head down on my gel wrist-pad and sleeeeeeeep...

I had a full weekend! Besides shopping and the Kopokelli/Oran/Mascato concert, hangin' with the kidney-stone passin' papa, FOUR HOURS of Twilight Zone in ONE DAY, and two(!) nights of gaming, yesterday Scotty, Nez and I headed out to cross an item off my list--"32. Get drunk on a restaurant patio in the middle of the day".

The day started out chillin' with Beekeeper and quickly moved into all three of us heading up to the Terra Losa Pizza 73 for Sonic's What's In the Van, Man? contest. We sat around in the sun, enjoying the nice weather until the winning number was drawn--sadly, it wasn't any of us, but we got to watch and clap as the lucky winner picked the van (a 30GB iPod) over the cash ($5). It was a good time.

Then we headed up to the North-end Moxie's for Bellinis (Nez) and Margharitas (me). Scotty was the DD. An expensive meal with our desserts-in-glasses, but satisfying--and after 2 Moxie's size boozaholic drinks, I was indeed drunk. Or "festively soused" as I prefer.

Unfortunately, the less than five hours of sleep the night before came back to haunt me in a big way and I'm sure the booze didn't help in that department. We skipped up to Mission Fun & Games and then to Scotty's for HellBoy and spagetti. I slept through HellBoy. Scotty (like a jerk) woke me up rather nastily a couple of times. I can't be mad at him however--it was hilarious.

After we said bye to Scottybomb, Nez and I delivered fruity popsicles to the Conrad residence where (another!) game night was being hosted. I got to hold baby Brandon and watch Draya take a few steps! She looked so proud of herself!

Buh. Sleeeep... need sleeeeeeep... I even got 8 hours of sleep last night!

72. One character away!

I've added another character to my stable of alter-RPGos!

I can't remember what game we were playing--it was D&D but in a modern setting, so in our case, the U of A, today!

Worstninjaever, myself and Scottybomb played students sucked into magical-ness with Dorklord presiding as GM.

My new character: Lily "Hammer" Hammond, Devonite and U of A athlete WHO HAS NO FRIENDS and is perpetually splattered with gore. Oh, and afer every battle, her parents inevitably call her.

With Ninja's "Urban Nubian" and Scotty's angsty teenage elf, we're quite a trio. And it was a really fun game!

Now, for Dorklord to cook up his Call of Cthulu game so I can cross this mutha off my list!

Oh, and also; to play more of the games we've already started--Deadlands anyone? ;)

61. Drag Scottybomb and Nez to Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Yay! Another notch on my belt--or, in honour of Rocky Horror Picture Show--bed-post!

So garbed (scantily or otherwise) in our constumes, Nez (PJ Columbia), Scottybomb (Eddie), MK (the Criminologist), Jugglepants, Charmlily, Dr. Teeth (the head-waiter?), Shiny (a French whore) and I (the BEST Transylvanian) enjoyed all the screaming, stomping, rice, toast and TP tossing that comes along with the sexy madness of RHPS.
(And speaking of sexy, you should have seen Dr. Teeth in his tux! And Scottybomb in his leather jacket! And Shiny in her hiiiiiiigh heels--and a cravat is oddly fetching on MK. *Le siiiiiigh...*)

Afterward we all went out to Gay Denny's for the ritual "Eating of the Greasy Food at 3 in the Morning After Rocky." Nez said it was odd being the most strangely dressed ones in the restaurant for once!

Favourite call of the night, made up by Human Loser:

Our entire row shouted it and we got the people in front of us to crack up! TAWESOME!

The only complaints of the evening: that we couldn't hear all of the calls what with the cast not being miked and that I TOTALLY should have won the Transylvanian costume contest.

It has been decided that for the next RHPS showing, we shall be in attendance! This time in the floor seats so we can hear what they're saying!

73. See a movie with my friend Stacey

Wow! What a week for the ol' 101 List, eh?

Yesterday my pal Stacey from high school and piled into her (absolutely freakin' adorable) Echo hatchback and made our way downtown to take in Brick, a po-mo exercise in film noir set in high school with teenage characters.

Brilliant lines like "Tell her to come find me. She knows where I eat lunch." and "Don't come bangin' down my homeroom door" and "I'll see you at parent-teacher."

Holy shit man, it was just so freakin' intense! And when you think it can't get any more brutal--YOU'RE WRONG!!!

Yeah, I liked it.

Stacey's taking the film production course at NAIT right now and we've decided to make a short film this summer! It would be based on a dream she had about Martha Stewart making out with the Devil.

Stacey's awesome. And we're gonna be filmmakers!

TWO things I crossed off my list this weekend!

I took TONS of pictures at the Cinquo de Mayo/FUCK NTS party I threw at Casa de M & M.

Well, tons meaning like, a little less than 3/4 of a roll.

I got them developed on Saturday and I have this to conclude:
I am a shitty photographer.

Everything looked out of focus!!! Grrrrr/Bleagh.

I can't wait to get my NON-BROKEN camera back from my dad.

51. Wear my plaid cape out on the town!

This past weekend was full of dizzying ups and spine-crushing downs. Somewhere in the rollercoaster ride of my weekend I managed to cross another item off my list!

On Saturday night Nezbitt and Scottybomb invited me out to a cocktail party hosted by her former-roomie's new boyfriend. It was what I would truly call a mixer! There were people there I'd never met before, but instead of cowering with people I already knew I was innere mixin'! I am SO HORRIBLE with names and I can't remember any of them right now, but it was a good ol' time filled with laughs and delicious Strawberry Smoothie Baccardi Breezers that Scottybomb picked out. (I owe you $10 Nez...)

On top of socializing, I also got dressed up! I wore my little black low-cut wrap-shirt (that fell apart later in the evening--oops. I had to wear it tucked into my bra!) and my GORGEOUS plaid blue-cream-and-orange cape, gifted to me by none other than the Ry-Guy himself!

[Ed: I think all the guys have totally tuned out by this point. Maybe I'll bold low-cut so they don't get bored...]

Afterward, we skipped on home and watched some BBC Coupling. Holy crap that show is soooooo awesome. It deserves a cookie.

I have to wear my cape more often. It's bad enough it hung in my closet with a button missing for so long--even worse when I see how fuckin' GOOD I look in it!

Now I just have to sew a few more buttons to finish up #50!

97. Go to an art opening

Well, one more off the list!

Nez, Scottybomb and myself saw ourselves some art! Installation art to be more precise--we gathered our petticoats and set off on an adventure in South Lab as we partook of a University class of installation artists' final projects.

I am such a pompous jerk when it comes to art. Why do I have to get all pretentious and loser-ey whenever I go to art shows? I've been trying to force myself to spend less time at them however for the sake of my friends--(hey human_loser, remember the 8 hour day at the MET?)

Highlights:

The room filled with garbage painted white. Oddly serene and beautiful.
The red inflated shapes on the grass on the east side of South Lab.
The black light room. We had a grand old time looking at our cash and IDs with their secret government messages spelled out for us in black light-sensitive ink!
The rice room--with every surface covered in rice. I took off my shoes! It was fun!
The brigade of army men marching down the hallway!
The room left empty with a pile of paper, a staple gun and the instructions "Add to the room." (I think this one was my favourite--it tapped into the simple, impulsive creativity inside all of us that's usually manifested in shitty graffiti. It was neat to see how people used just staples and paper--and how people felt the need to write phrases and draw pictures, even though the artist didn't bring in a pen to use.)

It technically wasn't the opening, but we DID hit the reception! Free food abounded!

I also hit the BDes Grad show at FAB. There were a pair of red light sculptures that I want in my bedroom!

I love this time of year! If I could afford art, my apartment would be a gallery!

I think next week, I'll be hitting the Grant Mac Visual Communications Grad Show. They have such great shit there--AND IT'S ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE! =)

17. Get a trim!

HEY! I missed one! I actually got a trim a couple of weeks ago!

I went to Marvel College (where they train the hair ninjas). They trimmed my hair for $10! Overall, it looks nice, but I think they could have taken a bit more off--I'm still finding split ends, and I think that the top layers are a little short for my liking.

After that, I had lunch with my roomie Matt Kloster and Skaldona at the Blue Plate Diner for lunchies--YUM! And THEN, a few hours later met scottybomb and Nez at the good ol' Boston Pizza for Dins, followed by opening night of Imagepalooza at the Jekyll & Hyde Pub that night. So, all in all, a good, fun day followed by a fun night!

Looking back on it, my week of unemployment sure was awesome.

Btw, anyone know how to fix the countdown tool in my sidebar? I thought that I'd put the right dates in the right slots, but nothing I do seems to make it work.

My start date is March 8, 2006 and my end date is December 2, 2008.

What does it look like I'm doing wrong?!
